Studio-Student's Portfolio

We have been developing work at 'TheRecalibrationRoom' officially since 2019. Below is a collection of students' work ranging in age from Elementary to Adult students. The courses we offer are as follow:

>> MachineDrawing - Simple electronics combined with drawing techniques. Materials range from fine-liners and pencils to acrylic markers.

>> CameraObscura - Where we explore pinhole cameras & darkroom practice.

>> Streetart/graffiti - Looking at various work and artists. Learning about materials, tools & techniques.

>> Printmaking - Lino carving with water based inks using the etching press.

>> Sculpey101 - All things polymer clay in combination with exploring ocean health.

>> CircuitBoard Soldering - We learn about all relevant components, tools and most soldering techniques all the way to delicate microchips.

>> Arduino - Dealing with hardware and software, from beginner to individual project builds.

>> Ceramics - Everything from hand building, slabbing and coils to underglaze techniques and using oxides.

>> SubText in FineArt - We look at, compare and discuss various paintings, sculptures, performances and installations from various art movements.

>> American School Reading - Every semester we tackle a book from the TPE American school reading list.  

>> LaCartoneria  - We explore wearable cardboard sculpture by looking at Mexican artists, Frida Kahlo and Pedro Linares.

>> PolySculpt - We explore the sculptural possibilities of Polystyrene and plaster by looking at the work of British artist Barbara Hepworth.
